Ajax Web Design & Ajax Web Development

Asynchronous JavaScript and XML, or AJAX, is used to create interactive websites that allow users to process information remotely. AJAX uses JavaScript, PHP, and remote HTTP requests to process information better, faster, and more dynamically to enhance interactivity.

The unique aspect of AJAX is its ability to exchange data with the server and update the content without having to reload the entire page. Having the ability to retrieve information about a certain element allows a webpage to load faster based upon changes that the user makes.

If interactivity is important for your customers, AJAX is the solution for you. AJAX is the alternative to Flash-like interactivity. It allows you to have almost the same functionality as Flash scripting but without the bandwidth download.

The majority of web browsers will support AJAX scripting and is perfect for those who want interactivity but don’t like huge bandwith problems. Viewers will only download the bits of information they need, instead of entire websites.

Features

  • Page loads dynamically and creates more interactivity.
  • Scripting is done on the server side to help information process quickly.
  • Supported by majority of popular web browsers.
  • Enhances interactivity in HTML based websites.
  • Lowers bandwidth usage by only downloading information needed.

I really like the features and functionality of AJAX and have a few implemented on my website. I was a little worried at first when using AJAX because I knew that not all browsers support AJAX. After I did a little more research, I found out that 95.2% of all browsers will support AJAX and more browsers are constantly being added to this population. I fully recommend everyone to use this form of scripting if they want to add some dynamic content to their website.

I was searching for web design services over the web and kept seeing the word “AJAX” being thrown around but didn’t really understand what it is. Now that Peak Studios helped cleared some of my questions I really like the idea of being able to load information dynamically without refreshing the website.

The bandwidth and interactivity features that AJAX can do is impressive.

  4. Lindsay Says:

Web 2.0 is all about AJAX. Well, not entirely but from what I have seen so far AJAX is going to be seen more and more as users demand more interativity with their website. Its all about the experience of the user.

  5. Jared Says:

Instead of just loading websites, I have also seen AJAX be used to process information in the background for member tracking.

  6. Alex Says:

What can AJAX do for me, my customers, and my website?

  7. Keith Says:

AJAX can provide a “customer experience”. It allows your members to interact with your website in a more dynamic method and makes your website stand out form all the other static websites out there.
